Our vision for Empowered Soul Retreats was born out of our shared desire to bring the practice of yoga, meditation, and resources for continued growth through self-care routines and supporting your holistic journey.

Our Story: How it Started…

Alyssabeth and Mimi originally met in 2021 as part of a trauma-informed yoga training at what became our home yoga studio in North Carolina, where we both found ourselves transplants - coincidentally both having grown up in the Northeast, Mimi the Bronx/Jersey, and Alyssabeth in the Lehigh Valley-in Pennsylvania / New Jersey. Both have since traveled around the world and have called many places home.

The seed for Empowered Soul Retreats was planted during our trip to Seattle together for Integrative Restoration meditation training and the rest is history!

We’re excited to share our love of yoga, meditation, and travel through Empowered Soul Retreats.

About Your Retreat Hosts


  • Co-Founder

    Alyssabeth is a writer, educator, lover of travel, and full-time RVer. She was lucky enough to be introduced to yoga in middle school, through a family friend who opened a yoga studio; she began practicing restorative yoga and became fascinated with the way breathwork, particularly ujjayi pranayama, could have such an immense impact on reducing stress and anxiety.

    The spiritual practice of yoga became a guiding force in her life. While living in Southern California, she developed a love for hot yoga, particularly hot vinyasa, and yin. She is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) and earned her RYT-200 certification at Hot House Yoga in Richmond Virginia.

    When she’s not practicing yoga or writing poetry, she’s likely camping, hiking, and enjoying nature with her spouse and puppy, any chance she gets!

Alyssabeth is a magnetic yoga instructor who will draw you in during her classes while seamlessly flowing through uplifting vinyasas. Alyssabeth is always willing to share her plethora of knowledge on subjects spanning from poetry to marketing & techy-things ;). She possesses the gift of invigorating your spirit with her welcoming and fun loving personality. You will always leave her classes with a smile on your face and in your heart.

    Mimi has worked closely with the military for 10 years as an overseas contractor. She began practicing yoga in 2011 & fell in love with all of the physical & mental benefits it created in her life & the lives of the military community around her.

    Mimi is a 200-RYT with a focus in Therapeutic & Trauma Informed Yoga & Meditation. She is the Co-Founder of Empowered Soul Retreats & is dedicated to sharing yoga, breath-work & meditation with diverse & underserved communities to improve their overall health & well-being.

Mimi is the QUEEN of chair yoga and dynamic, fun & challenging flows. P.S. if you’ve ever thought: ‘chair yoga is for old people’, think again, you will WERK 🤣& have a blast doing it. In her classes, you’ll experience light heartedness & inevitably laughter. You’ll find your edge & connect with joy. She has the most welcoming energy both on & off the mat!
